Guardsmen of Redemption

For almost the entire time of Redemption's existence, the National Guard has been an integral part of the city and life in Redemption.  The Guard consists of only those most loyal to The Five.  They keep the city safe from outside forces, other city-states tha may want a piece of our prosperity, they cull potential soldiers from our population, including children of specific skill, and they are our army.

All National Guardsmen receive training on Black Rock.  The training lasts anywhere from four to ten years depending on the goals of the particular Guardsman.  Children who are culled are usually between the ages of five and fifteen, and always are given ten years of specialized training.  Adults who are culled for their unique skills don't usually need as much.

There are always some of the culled who don't work out to be proper soldier material.  These individuals are trained in various trades and added to the workforce when they are of age (sixteen or older) as proper, loyal citizens of Redemption.

The Guardsmen don't, truly care about individual people, though some may marry and have families.  The only ones who support the citizens are the Enforcers, the local law enforcement and known to be neutral when it comes to The Five.
