Yuki was betrayed a few months before the apocalypse, staked in the heart placing her in the torpor state. the only reason she is still a live is because of the flames that where set to kill her collapsed the wooden floor thus protecting her from the elements.

Yuki has only been awake for 6 months trying to regather her lost strength, when she met Broderick and gave him the Embrace to save his life. how ever upon giving the Embrace Yuki decided that she has lost to many loved ones and is never going to make any more kindred. thus allowing her to focus all of her time on her only childe, she shall make him strong and to give him the tool's and honor he needs, in order to get justice and if the ones that betrayed her still live, to help get revenge.

and her haven is under the ruins of a church. ( because no one thinks that a vampire to live under a church)
